Strat differences between the versions
I am making a list of which version(GC/Xbox) and hz works best for each zone. I will do my best to keep it updated.
If I haven't listed any comments, that means I don't know about the differences for that zone. I've only done up to zone 10 so far. I would appreciate comments to help to add to this list, and so would anyone using this list. Also comment if you think I missed an important strat for a zone, or if you think the name of a strat should be changed.
I am not going to bother to play every zone on every version/hz of the game, so I can't complete this lit by myself.
1/Downhill Demolition - cop car strat: best combination of trucks with gamecube 50hz and turbostart, or gamecube 60hz and runaway, see BK's reply just below this post for more info
1/Downhill Demolition - Custom Pickup strat:
2/Coastal Crush - sink glitch strat:
2/Coastal Crush - supercar RST strat:
2/Coastal Crush - Wave's strat - only works on 50hz and only with manual transmission because you need a very high speed RST to be able to hit the bus soon enough.
3/Out of Control Tower - supercar RST strat - much easier on 50hz because of higher speed RST's. Gamecube is also preferable over the Xbox because of the better button arrangement(makes shifting up easier/faster). So, Gamecube 50hz is the best here. It is possible to get the flatbed to jackknife on 60hz, but you need to be quite fast(take an optimal route).
3/Out of Control Tower - Custom Muscle strat:
3/Out of Control Tower - Roadster strat:
4/Pacific Peril - sink glitch strat:
5/Rattlesnake Row - Custom Pickup/Custom SUV strat - a bit easier to get good scenarios on gamecube
5/Rattlesnake Row - Drew's 21 multi strat(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ayTi3HAox4U&t=24s):
5/Rattlesnake Row - wall strat:
5/Rattlesnake Row - Sparker's 22 multi strat:
5/Rattlesnake Row - nonglitch strat:
6/Dip Disaster - Classic strat:
6/Dip Disaster - BK's high multi strat:
7/Sandstorm Shredder - Classic strat:
7/Sandstorm Shredder - Custom SUV Strat:
7/Sandstorm Shredder - 2 bus strat:
7/Sandstorm Shredder - nonglitch strat:
8/Ridge Riot - noob strat:
8/Ridge Riot - Wave's Custom Sport strat:
8/Ridge Riot - Drew's Oval Racer strat(https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wfNQZ-BGhR0):
8/Ridge Riot - BK's 2013 strat - better on gamecube because the lighter physics on the xbox make the bus go too far. different from Drew's Oval Racer Strat because, according to BK, "his timing is for that specific scenario truck folding at bus......mine is to catch more multi"
9/Freeway Fury - wall strat: better on xbox because the lighter physics make it easier to get the traffic all the way to the wall, and so that vehicles fly more easily to catch the extra cars
9/Freeway Fury - custom roadster strat: http://crashmode.chiefs.tv/t34-differences-between-versions-of-the-game-and-refresh-rates#51

Re: Strat differences between the versions
Good idea to keep a list of. After all those years i forgot stuff. Or others told different experiences so i wasn't sure anymore.
Also this way maybe someone will be bothered to compare versions or hz for a strat. I hope from time to time the list will grow.
I will just start with zone 1 and the cop car strat. If i talk of a best combination there i just mean the very 1st truck (the one we crash into) which is the one meant to glitch. I don't really see the other trucks to be that important. And the best one is the big grey long nose one (there is no oil tanker long nose for 1st truck as far as i know). But as we know after all those years every truck can super glitch. Instead of the cop car other cars like custom sport work too which changes things again.
On Gamecube 50hz u get the big grey truck with a turbostart and if u drive a little right of the median, then the big grey truck will appear very often. I found to get the big grey truck also on Gamecube 60hz with runaway, no RST. Just start the zone, then press the brake for short so that u see the 1 in the gears "vibrate". The u get a big grey truck long nose also very often. Know i don't remember if it also needs a certain path to be driven on.
So u can add to the list:

Re: Strat differences between the versions
Cause today i saw maks and etmerde used 50hz on zone 12 with the custom pickup strat. U need to use 60hz to get 2 trucks.
12/Glass Canyon - Custom Pickup strat: 60hz needed to get 2 trucks. Also for the busflips the lighter physics on the Xbox version will help cause the Custom Pickup goes into mid-air.

Re: Strat differences between the versions
I was also going to make another list that tells how the strats compare with each other. But, with the way that I was originally planning this, it would require people to look through multiple lists to get info about a single strat(one for the hz differences, and one for the xbox/gc differences).
Also, the forum doesn't allow for easily changing the formatting of the text or the width and height of rows and columns in tables, and you can't download a table like you can a spreadsheet.
So, I am working on a google doc version of this instead. It will include all info about all strats for all the zones. https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ar2ZOuIGHXH2dDhtS3l5Y3NzaGE0bVE3VlhpTmdYcWc For columns C and D (Differences between each system (Xbox/GC/PS2) and Differences between refresh rates (50hz/60hz)), any spaces left blank are blank because I don't know about the differences for those zones. For the other two columns, 'How each strat compares to other strats for the same zone' and 'videos,' I do know the info, I just haven't finished putting it in yet.
This will help us to organize our information about the differences and to make information more accessible to players who are new to crash mode.
