First, hereare some facts: The high scores on this zone are done with sink glitches. The only known case of a 'permanent' sink glitch, or a Madmax-style sink glitch, is in the current world record by The Real MADMAX: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYqBaa_dY30

This is my theory as to how these glitches work(everything from now on in this post is just my speculation):
A truck works like two separate vehicles that are 'attached' together. When the truck is on a hill and the ground disappears under part of the truck, one half of the truck(the front) sinks down under/into the ground, while the trailer stays above ground. They keep playing a tug-of-war, trying to pull the truck onto one side of the road(above or below), causing the truck to rapidly jump up and down. It takes on damage very quickly, but almost always the truck stops glitching and just falls into the ground (see 0:26 in 232 million (WCR 4th) by Brainkiller007 for an example of this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EpevQvAKiqo).
But, what caused the truck to accumulate damage for so long in the world record? At 0:23 in Madmax's video, a bus slid beside the truck into a certain position, allowing it to be kicked by the truck as it started its sink glitch. Because of this kick, the truck sent itself sliding backwards(see 0:26-0:27) toward the gas station instead of forwards (as it did after kicking the bus in $271 Million by Vieraldo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FlYX93nJgt8). If the truck slides forwards, it slides into an area where the game's level geometry is no longer loaded(the road is still visible, but vehicles just go right through it), so there is no road for it to be caught on, so it just falls down.
At 0:53 in 188 million (WCR 8th) by Hddr3, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kYLoGJNp3m4, a difference in road textures can easily be seen; The front of the trailer is resting on a light area of the road, and the rear on a darker area. Also, this tunnel is actually a shortcut(almost - my point is, it leads to another part of the track in a much shorter distance than the normal route does). Perhaps, once the game sees that the player's car is in that spot in the tunnel, the game thinks "The player is so much farther along on the track there could not possibly be anything left lying around in that area behind the gas station, so I'd better get rid of the geometry back there to save space in memory(it would not be possible to have the entire track loaded at one time). Doing this, the lighter part of the road loses its ability to hold up the truck, but the darker area does not, and the truck becomes caught on that darker part of the road.

Another part of the crash ritual, got 155 million here. It is even my NTSC PR and my 10th best ever on that zone. I used the Japanese Muscle (that car hits the sink spot the most) strat which normally gives only 6 multi but i found a way to get 7 multi. It doesn't work very good cause u need to hit the perfect timing.

This is how i do: Start with RST MT at timer on 1, then shift up fast into 4th gear, wait a little and then shift up the last gears (in my mind i count 1,2,3.....4,5). You need to avoid a little the taxi before the truck. You can see the timing was good if that taxi (can be seen in the vid at 0:12) right beside the bus starts to brake, it is the 7th multi.

Video: 22,190,768 x 7 = $155,335,376

I have to give a follow-up to Pacific Peril/4 if I want to keep a place in WCR Top 20. Now with Beard's improvement, my score went down to 14th. I remember clearly, as if it was yesterday, when I uploaded my PR, in entered 9th place. And now it's on 14th! I need a good score improvement by now.

Got today 156 million. 26 million damage with a blue tarp truck/long nose. It is even a new NTSC PR for me but only 0,7 million better than my old NTSC PR. So i will wait till i get a better score to load on youtube.
It is no live vid cause i forgot to start dscaler.

26,014,328 x 6 = $156,085,968

Did you make a video of this? It would be the 2nd(I think) known x12 multi with a sink glitch.

Beat my 8 year old PR (232mil) here today and got 256 million, you probably already read it in the news. In the vid it can be seen now how i shift up the gears to get 7 multi sometimes with the Japanese Muscle. It doesn't work that often, maybe with more practice on the timing you can increase the rate (it is that taxi which can be seen at 0:12 - 0:13 in the vid). Cause the Japanese Muscle is for sure the best car to hit the nice spot for the sink-glitch more often.

I got once even more damage (37mil) on my old 226 million score but it was only 6 multi. Also i never got that high damage without the long nose oil tanker and big grey truck. I wonder which was the best damage with a short nose truck.
